Untrusted search path vulnerability in Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 and 2010 allows local users to gain privileges via a Trojan horse DLL in the current working directory, aka "Insecure Library Loading Vulnerability." NOTE: this might overlap CVE-2010-3141 and CVE-2010-3142.
The issue has been introduced in 01/30/2007. The weakness was published 11/09/2010 by TheLeader (Website). The advisory is shared for download at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-3337 since 09/14/2010. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 09/29/2021).
A public exploit has been developed in ANSI C. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 1379 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $25k-$100k.
