QuickTime in Apple Mac OS X 10.6.x before 10.6.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via a crafted Sorenson movie file.
The weakness was presented 11/16/2010 by Carsten Eiram (TippingPoint) with TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative as HT4435 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2010-3793 since 10/07/2010. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
