A vulnerability was found in Finalcut feedlist 2.61.01 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin) and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code of the file wp-content/plugins/feedlist/handler_image.php. The manipulation of the argument i with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in feedlist/handler_image.php in the FeedList plugin 2.61.01 for WordPress allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the i parameter.
The weakness was presented 11/05/2010 by Scott Bell (Website). The advisory is shared at osvdb.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-4637 since 12/30/2010. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
The exploit is available at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:wp-content/plugins/feedlist/handler_image.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 50651 (FeedList Plugin for WordPress 'i' Parameter XSS), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CGI abuses : XSS.
