A vulnerability has been found in Miloslav Trmac libuser up to 0.49 and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown processing of the component User Account. libuser before 0.57 uses a cleartext password value of (1) !! or (2) x for new LDAP user accounts, which makes it easier for remote attackers to obtain access by specifying one of these values.
The weakness was shared 01/13/2011 (Website). The advisory is shared at fedorahosted.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2011-0002. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
