A vulnerability was found in Mozilla Bugzilla up to 2.17.1 (Bug Tracking Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the file buglist.cgi. Multiple cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities in Bugzilla before 3.2.10, 3.4.x before 3.4.10, 3.6.x before 3.6.4, and 4.0.x before 4.0rc2 allow remote attackers to hijack the authentication of arbitrary users for requests related to (1) adding a saved search in buglist.cgi, (2) voting in votes.cgi, (3) sanity checking in sanitycheck.cgi, (4) creating or editing a chart in chart.cgi, (5) column changing in colchange.cgi, and (6) adding, deleting, or approving a quip in quips.cgi.

The weakness was released 01/24/2011 by Michael Brooks with Mozilla as Bug 621110 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-0046. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 56444 (Debian DSA-2322-1 : bugzilla - several vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
