A vulnerability was found in PHP up to 4.4.5 (Programming Language Software). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component Signal Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Race condition in the PCNTL extension in PHP before 5.3.4, when a user-defined signal handler exists, might allow context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a large number of concurrent signals.
