Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox before 3.5.17 and 3.6.x before 3.6.14, and SeaMonkey before 2.0.12, allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of arbitrary users for requests that were initiated by a plugin and received a 307 redirect to a page on a different web site.

The weakness was disclosed 03/02/2011 as Bug 573873 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.mozilla.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-0059 since 12/21/2010. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 52507 (CentOS 4 : firefox (CESA-2011:0310)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CentOS Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 119024 (Red Hat Update for Xulrunner Firefox (RHSA-2011:0310)).

Upgrading to version 1.0.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
