A vulnerability was found in Apache Subversion up to 1.6.4 (Versioning Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the component mod_dav_svn. The mod_dav_svn module for the Apache HTTP Server, as distributed in Apache Subversion before 1.6.16, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and daemon crash) via a request that contains a lock token.
The weakness was shared 03/04/2011 by Philip Martin as Bug 680755 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-0715 since 01/31/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 68221 (Oracle Linux 6 : subversion (ELSA-2011-0328)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
