WebKit in Apple Safari before 5.0.4, when the Web Inspector is used, does not properly handle the window.console._inspectorCommandLineAPI property, which allows user-assisted remote attackers to bypass the Same Origin Policy and conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via a crafted web site.
The weakness was presented 03/11/2011 with Apple (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2011-0169. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
