A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Aleksey XML Security Library up to 0.0.11 (Software Library). This issue affects an unknown code block of the file xslt.c. xslt.c in XML Security Library (aka xmlsec) before 1.2.17, as used in WebKit and other products, when XSLT is enabled, allows remote attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files via vectors involving the libxslt output extension and a ds:Transform element during signature verification.
The weakness was shared 04/04/2011 as Bug 692133 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.redhat.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-1425. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
