QuickTime in Apple Mac OS X before 10.6.8 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via crafted sample tables in a movie file.
The weakness was shared 06/24/2011 by Honggang Ren with Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs as HT4723 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-0210 since 12/23/2010. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
