A vulnerability has been found in HP OpenView Storage Data Protector up to 6.10 (Network Management Software) and classified as problematic. The inet service in HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 6.00 through 6.20 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon exit) via a request containing crafted parameters.
The weakness was presented 07/01/2011 by Core Security (Website). The advisory is available at coresecurity.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-1515 since 03/23/2011. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
