A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in Novell GroupWise 8.0 (Groupware Software). Integer signedness error in GroupWise Internet Agent (GWIA) in Novell GroupWise 8.0 before HP3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a negative BYWEEKNO property in a weekly RRULE variable in a VCALENDAR attachment in an e-mail message.
The weakness was disclosed 10/07/2011 by iDefense Labs with iDEFENSE Labs (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at labs.idefense.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-2662. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
