A vulnerability was found in Novell GroupWise 8.0 (Groupware Software) and classified as very critical. This issue affects an unknown part of the file gwia.exe of the component GroupWise Internet Agent. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Stack-based buffer overflow in gwia.exe in GroupWise Internet Agent (GWIA) in Novell GroupWise 8.0 before HP3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long HTTP request for a .css file.
The weakness was released 10/07/2011 by Carsten Eiram with Secunia Research as Bug 678939 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.novell.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-0334. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
