libinfo in Apple iOS before 5.0.1 does not properly formulate domain-name queries, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a crafted DNS hostname.

The weakness was published 11/11/2011 by Erling Ellingsen with Facebook as HT5130 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-3441 since 09/13/2011. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
