A vulnerability classified as critical was found in gnu gnutls (Network Encryption Software). This vulnerability affects the function gnutls_session_get_data in the library lib/gnutls_session.c. Buffer overflow in the gnutls_session_get_data function in lib/gnutls_session.c in GnuTLS 2.12.x before 2.12.14 and 3.x before 3.0.7, when used on a client that performs nonstandard session resumption, allows remote TLS servers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a large SessionTicket.
The weakness was shared 12/08/2011 as Bug 752308 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-4128. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
