A vulnerability has been found in Phpletter Ajax File and Image Manager up to 0.8 and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part. Static code injection vulnerability in inc/function.base.php in Ajax File and Image Manager before 1.1, as used in tinymce before 1.4.2, phpMyFAQ 2.6 before 2.6.19 and 2.7 before 2.7.1, and possibly other products, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary PHP code into data.php via crafted parameters.

The weakness was disclosed 12/14/2011 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at zenphoto.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-4825 since 12/14/2011. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.

A public exploit has been developed by EgiX and been published even before and not after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as highly functional. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 40 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 87234 (Log1 CMS WriteInfo() PHP Code Injection Vulnerability).

Upgrading to version 0.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
