The Blueberry FlashBack ActiveX control in BB FlashBack Recorder.dll in Blueberry BB FlashBack, as used in IBM Rational Rhapsody before 7.6.1 and other products, does not properly implement the TestCompatibilityRecordMode method, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was presented 12/23/2011 by rgod (Website). The advisory is shared for download at www-01.ibm.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-1388 since 03/10/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
