The Blueberry FlashBack ActiveX control in BB FlashBack Recorder.dll in Blueberry BB FlashBack, as used in IBM Rational Rhapsody before 7.6.1 and other products, does not properly implement the (1) Start, (2) PauseAndSave, (3) InsertMarker, and (4) InsertSoundToFBRAtMarker methods, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via unspecified vectors.

The weakness was published 12/23/2011 (Website). The advisory is available at www-01.ibm.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2011-1392 since 03/10/2011. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 11/28/2021). This vulnerability is assigned to T1059 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
