A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in HP Managed Printing Administration up to 2.6.2 (Printing Software). This affects some unknown functionality in the library MPAUploader.dll of the file Default.asp of the component Administration. The manipulation of the argument filename with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The weakness was disclosed 12/26/2011 by Andrea Micalizzi (rgod) (Website). The advisory is shared at zerodayinitiative.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2011-4167 since 10/21/2011. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
