The weakness was disclosed 02/21/2012 by Luigi Auriemma with Information and Communication Security Technology (Website). The advisory is shared at us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2012-0241 since 12/21/2011. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

The exploit is shared for download at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 11895 (Advantech/BroadWin WebAccess Multiple Vulnerabilities).
