Use-after-free vulnerability in the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) implementation in Google Chrome before 19.0.1084.52 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via vectors related to the :first-letter pseudo-element.
The weakness was presented 09/12/2012 by Christian Holler (miaubiz) with Chromium Development Community as APPLE-SA-2012-09-12-1 as confirmed posting (Website). The advisory is available at lists.apple.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-3105 since 08/09/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The flaw has been found by using the open-source tool AddressSanitizer.
