A vulnerability was found in FFmpeg 0.8.10 (Multimedia Processing Software). It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function sbr_qmf_synthesis. The sbr_qmf_synthesis function in libavcodec/aacsbr.c in FFmpeg before 0.9.1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted mpg file that triggers memory corruption involving the v_off variable, probably a buffer underflow.
The issue has been introduced in 01/12/2012. The weakness was published 08/20/2012 as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is available at git.videolan.org.
