A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in BEA WebLogic 6.1/7.0/8.1 (Application Server Software). The remove method in a stateful Enterprise JavaBean (EJB) in BEA WebLogic Server and WebLogic Express version 8.1 through SP2, 7.0 through SP4, and 6.1 through SP6, does not properly check EJB permissions before unexporting a bean, which allows remote authenticated users to remove EJB objects from remote views before the security exception is thrown.

The bug was discovered 04/21/2004. The weakness was presented 04/20/2004 with BEA Systems, Inc. (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at dev2dev.bea.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2004-0713 since 07/20/2004. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
