Details
A vulnerability was found in Mozilla Thunderbird (Mail Client Software). It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Mozilla Firefox before 16.0, Thunderbird before 16.0, and SeaMonkey before 2.13 do not properly handle navigation away from a web page that has multiple menus of SELECT elements active, which allows remote attackers to conduct clickjacking attacks via vectors involving an XPI file, the window.open method, and the Geolocation API, a different vulnerability than CVE-2012-3984.
