Directory traversal vulnerability in NFRAgent.exe in Novell File Reporter 1.0.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a 126 /FSF/CMD request with a .. (dot dot) in a FILE element of an FSFUI record.

The weakness was published 11/18/2012 by Juan Vazquez as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-4958 since 09/17/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.
