A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in Steve J Baker PLIB 1.8.5. Affected is the function error of the component Error Message Handler. Stack-based buffer overflow in the error function in ssg/ssgParser.cxx in PLIB 1.8.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted 3d model file that triggers a long error message, as demonstrated by a .ase file.
The weakness was disclosed 11/18/2012 as Bug 871187 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com.
