The Passcode Lock implementation in Apple iOS before 6 does not properly interact with the "Slide to Power Off" feature, which allows physically proximate attackers to see the most recently used third-party app by watching the device s screen.

The weakness was presented 09/19/2012 by Chris Lawrence with DBB as APPLE-SA-2012-09-19-1 as confirmed posting (Website). The advisory is available at prod.lists.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-3735 since 06/19/2012. Local access is required to approach this attack. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
