Trend Micro OfficeScan 3.0 - 6.0 has default permissions of "Everyone Full Control" on the installation directory and registry keys, which allows local users to disable virus protection.

The bug was discovered 10/12/2003. The weakness was published 05/07/2004 by Matt as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-2006 since 05/04/2005. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1068 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
