A vulnerability was found in Ruby-i18n i18n 0.6.5 (Programming Language Software). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function I18n::MissingTranslationData.new. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in exceptions.rb in the i18n gem before 0.6.6 for Ruby allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted I18n::MissingTranslationData.new call.
The weakness was presented 12/06/2013 (Website). The advisory is shared at weblog.rubyonrails.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-4492 since 06/12/2013. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
