CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in MediaWiki (Content Management System). This affects the function Sanitizer::checkCss. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a incomplete blacklist vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-184. The product implements a protection mechanism that relies on a list of inputs (or properties of inputs) that are not allowed by policy or otherwise require other action to neutralize before additional processing takes place, but the list is incomplete, leading to resultant weaknesses. This is going to have an impact on integrity. The summary by CVE is:

Incomplete blacklist vulnerability in Sanitizer::checkCss in MediaWiki before 1.19.9, 1.20.x before 1.20.8, and 1.21.x before 1.21.3 allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via certain non-ASCII characters in CSS, as demonstrated using variations of "expression" containing (1) full width characters or (2) IPA extensions, which are converted and rendered by Internet Explorer.

The weakness was published 12/13/2013 by Kevin Israel as Bug 55332 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.wikimedia.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-4568 since 06/12/2013. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1562.006 for this issue.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 73256 (Debian DSA-2891-1 : mediawiki, mediawiki-extensions Multiple Vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
