A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Siemens SIMATIC Wincc Open Architecture up to 3.11 (SCADA Software). Affected is an unknown part. Directory traversal vulnerability in Siemens SIMATIC WinCC OA before 3.12 P002 January allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via crafted packets to TCP port 4999.
The weakness was disclosed 02/06/2014 by Positive Technologies with Positive Technologies (Website). The advisory is available at ics-cert.us-cert.gov. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-1698 since 01/29/2014. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely.
