Untrusted search path vulnerability in fwsnort before 1.6.4, when not running as root, allows local users to execute arbitrary code via a Trojan horse fwsnort.conf in the current working directory.
The weakness was presented 02/07/2014 by Murray McAllister (Website). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-0039 since 12/03/2013. The attack needs to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
