utils/mount.ecryptfs_private.c in ecryptfs-utils before 90 does not properly maintain the mtab file during error conditions, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (table corruption) or bypass intended unmounting restrictions via a umount system call.

The weakness was published 02/15/2014 by Marc Deslauriers (Website). The advisory is shared for download at launchpad.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-1834 since 04/27/2011. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
