NSXMLParser in Foundation in Apple iOS before 8 allows attackers to read arbitrary files via XML data containing an external entity declaration in conjunction with an entity reference, related to an XML External Entity (XXE) issue.

The weakness was shared 09/17/2014 by George Gal (evad3rs) with VSR as HT6441 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-4374 since 06/20/2014. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1592 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
