The cdf_unpack_summary_info function in cdf.c in the Fileinfo component in PHP before 5.4.29 and 5.5.x before 5.5.13 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (performance degradation) by triggering many file_printf calls.

The weakness was presented 09/17/2014 by Remi Collet as HT6443 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-0237 since 12/03/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
