A vulnerability was found in Rapid7 Metasploit Framework 4.3 and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the file plugins/pcap_log.rb. Upgrading to version 4.4 eliminates this vulnerability. The upgrade is hosted for download at github.com. Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at github.com. The problem might be mitigated by replacing the product with Core Impact, Immunity Canvas, Armitage or Attack Tool Kit as an alternative. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
