Opera before 12.10 does not properly implement the Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) specification, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended page-content restrictions via a crafted request.

The weakness was disclosed 11/06/2012 by Gareth Heyes with Google Security Group as 1210 as not defined changelog entry (Website). The advisory is shared for download at opera.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-6462 since 01/02/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy.
