Details
A vulnerability was found in Advantech WebAccess 5.0/6.0/7.0/7.1 (SCADA Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality. The manipulation of the argument GotoCmd with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
To exploit this vulnerability, the attacker sends data from the GotoCmd argument to control. If the value of the argument is overly long, the static stack buffer can be overflowed. This will allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code remotely.
