A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in wp-cross-rss 1.7 (WordPress Plugin). This affects an unknown code of the file proxy.php. The manipulation of the argument rss with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Absolute path traversal vulnerability in Cross-RSS (wp-cross-rss) plugin 1.7 for WordPress allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a full pathname in the rss parameter to proxy.php.
