The IP-HTTPS server in Windows Server 2008 R2 and R2 SP1 and Server 2012 does not properly validate certificates, which allows remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via a revoked certificate, aka "Revoked Certificate Bypass Vulnerability."
The bug was discovered 12/11/2012. The weakness was presented 12/11/2012 as MS12-083 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is available at technet.microsoft.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2012-2549 since 05/09/2012. The attack may be launched remotely.
