Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in nextend-facebook-settings.php in the Nextend Facebook Connect plugin before 1.5.1 for WordPress allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the fb_login_button parameter in a newfb_update_options action.
The weakness was disclosed 12/05/2014 (Website). The advisory is shared at wordpress.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-8800 since 11/13/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 3 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:nextend-facebook-settings.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
Upgrading to version 1.5.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
