A vulnerability was found in Symantec Data Center Security up to 6.0.0. It has been classified as problematic. Affected is some unknown processing of the component Management Console. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-79. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the ajaxswing webui in the Management Console server in the management server in Symantec Critical System Protection (SCSP) 5.2.9 through MP6 and Symantec Data Center Security: Server Advanced (SDCS:SA) 6.0.x through 6.0 MP1 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via unspecified vectors.
The weakness was released 01/21/2015 by Stefan Viehböck with SEC Consult (Website). The advisory is shared for download at symantec.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-9224 since 12/03/2014. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Required for exploitation is a authentication.
