Drupal 6.x before 6.35 and 7.x before 7.35 allows remote authenticated users to reset the password of other accounts by leveraging an account with the same password hash as another account and a crafted password reset URL.

The weakness was presented 03/18/2015 with Drupal Security Team as DRUPAL-SA-CORE-2015-001 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at drupal.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-2559 since 03/19/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.
