A vulnerability has been found in SCADA Engine BACnet OPC up to 2.1.359.21 (SCADA Software) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Web Interface. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Heap-based buffer overflow in the SOAP web interface in SCADA Engine BACnet OPC Server before 2.1.371.24 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted packet.
The weakness was released 03/13/2015 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at ics-cert.us-cert.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-0979 since 01/10/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
