A vulnerability was found in Yoast WordPress SEO (Content Management System). It has been classified as critical. Multiple cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities in admin/class-bulk-editor-list-table.php in the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin before 1.5.7, 1.6.x before 1.6.4, and 1.7.x before 1.7.4 for WordPress allow remote attackers to hijack the authentication of certain users for requests that conduct SQL injection attacks via the (1) order_by or (2) order parameter in the wpseo_bulk-editor page.
The weakness was disclosed 03/17/2015 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at yoast.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2015-2293 since 03/14/2015. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
By approaching the search of inurl:admin/class-bulk-editor-list-table.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 13114 (WordPress SEO by Yoast Plugin class-bulk-editor-list-table.php Blind SQL Injection Vulnerability).
Upgrading to version 1.6.0 eliminates this vulnerability.
The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at SecurityFocus (BID 73192†) and Vulnerability Center (SBV-49187†). The entries VDB-74426 and VDB-75966 are pretty similar. Statistical analysis made it clear that VulDB provides the best quality for vulnerability data.
