A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Mozilla Firefox up to 36 (Web Browser). This issue affects an unknown function of the component docshell Type Information Handler. Mozilla Firefox before 37.0 relies on docshell type information instead of page principal information for Window.webidl access control, which might allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary JavaScript code with chrome privileges via certain content navigation that leverages the reachability of a privileged window with an unintended persistence of access to restricted internal methods.
The bug was discovered 03/31/2015. The weakness was published 04/01/2015 as Bug 1124898 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared at bugzilla.mozilla.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-0802 since 01/07/2015. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
