The (1) mod_dav_svn and (2) svnserve servers in Subversion 1.6.0 through 1.7.19 and 1.8.0 through 1.8.11 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (assertion failure and abort) via crafted parameter combinations related to dynamically evaluated revision numbers.

The weakness was shared 04/08/2015 by Evgeny Kotkov with VisualSVN (Website). The advisory is available at mandriva.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-0248 since 11/18/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
