A vulnerability was found in Apple MacOS X up to 10.10.2 (Operating System). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown code block of the component SceneKit. Heap-based buffer overflow in SceneKit in Apple OS X before 10.10.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted accessor element in a Collada file.
The weakness was released 04/08/2015 by Jose Duart (PanguTeam) with Google Security Team as HT204659 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-8830 since 11/14/2014. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
