A vulnerability was found in FFmpeg 1.0/1.0.1 (Multimedia Processing Software). It has been classified as problematic. This affects some unknown processing of the file libavcodec/ass_split.c. The ff_ass_split_override_codes function in libavcodec/ass_split.c in FFmpeg before 1.0.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and crash) via a subtitle dialog without text.
The issue has been introduced in 09/28/2012. The weakness was presented 01/21/2013 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at osvdb.org.
